The MVS Skills Hub connects classroom learning with practical skills, enterprise and preparation for adulthood. Every pathway starts with the learner’s strengths, interests, communication, EHCP outcomes and support needs.
Explore: discover interests and practise supported routines across catering and hospitality, retail, creative crafts, horticulture, animal care, conservation and Forest School.
Apply: take responsibility through enterprise projects, vocational tasters and suitable work experience.
Transition: plan the next setting, agree support and make a clear handover. Routes may include further education, training, supported internships, employment, volunteering or supported community participation.
English, maths, digital skills, wellbeing and independence run through every activity. Learners progress at their own pace, with meaningful choices and achievable next steps.
The Skills Hub Lead Advisor will bring together tutors, enterprise staff, families and external partners to plan activities and review each learner’s pathway. Small groups, predictable routines, visual support and reasonable adjustments help learners take part.
Skills portfolios and termly reviews will record progress towards EHCP outcomes, the support needed and how skills transfer to other settings.
We welcome links with employers, colleges, charities and community groups. Opportunities depend on individual readiness, eligibility, support and partner availability.
